A Message to Our Community

I am honored to announce my candidacy for Judge of the City Court of East St. Tammany, and I humbly and respectfully ask for your vote and your support in the November 3, 2026 election.

I am the one candidate in this race who has judicial experience, having been elected and appointed to not one, but two judicial capacities.  I was Elected and served 8 years as Justice of the Peace Ward 8 (Slidell and Pearl River) from 2007 until 2015, and I was appointed as Code Enforcement Hearing Officer in 2022 to preside over short term rental violations and other administrative matters.

Alongside my judicial roles, I have been a very busy litigator, handling cases including successions, civil litigation, criminal defense, and all aspects of family law.  Family law has comprised a significant part of my practice, and in 2023 I earned the title of Board Certified Family Law Specialist, a title only 13 attorneys possess in St. Tammany Parish, and only 3 in Slidell/Pearl River.

I have carefully considered my endeavor to be City Judge, and I have prepared accordingly.  In addition to my family law specialization, I returned to school to earn a Master’s Degree (MSW) in Social Work to better my knowledge of what services are appropriate for children and families in need.  I graduated from LSU in 2024. In addition, my experience adjudicating evictions, garnishments, collections, and civil matters has well prepared me to be Judge of City Court of East St. Tammany.

I am married with two sons (19 and 16) and two step-daughters, (15 and 18) and I am proud to say that all of our children are successful students with stellar GPA’s. I am very proud of my family and children, and I am dedicated to helping the children of this District if I am elected as Judge. I remain committed to improvement of the quality of life in Slidell and Pearl River.

I/We hope you will join our team by reviewing and signing the enclosed form pledging your support for the campaign, and we would love the opportunity to meet and talk about our visions and goals.  Thank you for considering voting for Tracey Powell for Judge, City Court of East St. Tammany.  God Bless!

Sincerely,

Tracey T. Powell
